ELENA AFIRMATIVA
Dynamic Painting
Project selected for the 2014 edition of ProgramaLaPlaza at Matadero Medialab.
The Dynamic Painting project grew out of my doctoral dissertation, which allowed me to broaden my view of pictorial practice in conjunction with digital media. This led me into programming, to experiment with the idea of generative painting. A crucial step at that time was the online course at Stony Brook University, titled Introduction to Computational Art: Processing. The resulting project was selected for the “Programa La Plaza” 2014 initiative at Medialab-Prado, which turned the urban space into a support for digital murals. The selected works were thus displayed for months on the façade of Medialab-Prado in Madrid’s Plaza de las Letras.
